About this question

Currently, there is no minimum age to retire in Brazil as a private sector worker for those who have contributed to the Social Security System for at least 35 years. There are proposals in congress, however, to establish a minimum age under which no worker would be able to retire, no matter how many years of contribution he might have had.For this question to be resolved as "Yes", a Constitutional Amendment Project must be approved by Brazil's Senate and House of Representatives, with changes to article 7 or 201 of the Constitution, including the establishment of a minimum age for retirement, regardless of how many years one might have contributed to the system.
