To be classified as a hurricane, a tropical cyclone must have one-minute maximum sustained winds of at least 119 km/h (Category 1). The highest classification in the scale - Category 5 - consists of storms with sustained winds over 251 km/h.

The East Coast of US (as well as the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribean) faces the threat of hurricanes every year, during the Atlantic hurricane season (from August to October). The last category 5 hurricane to make a landfall still at this category was Hurricane Michael, in 2018, in Florida. It is estimated that Michael caused around 25 billion dollars in damage and costed 74 lives. Will there be a category 5 hurricane making a landfall still as 5 in the US territory in 2020?

If a hurricane makes landfall in any US territory on the east coast as a category 5 storm by October 31st, 2020, this question will be resolved as "Yes".
