Will the blood test to detect schizophrenia and bipolar disorder be available on the market by the end of 2022?

Market Rules

Psychiatric disorders are diagnosed basically by clinical analysis, which can take up to years. With that in mind, researchers from the Federal University of São Paulo and the State University of Campinas (Brazil) are developing a new type of test to diagnose schizophrenia and bipolar disorder through a blood sample.

This pioneering examination was made possible by the identification of biochemical and molecular changes in samples from 182 individuals, including schizophrenic, bipolar patients, and a control group of people without any psychiatric illness. Now scientists are looking to improve the method with the introduction of bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence techniques.

If by the end of 2022 the blood test for the detection of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder be available on the market for clinical use, this prediction will be resolved as "Yes".
