If the US Government raises the national minimum wage above 7.5 USD per hour by the end of 2024, what will be its new value?
Market Rules
In the 2020 presidential race, Joe Biden promised that he would raise the federal minimum wage to 15 USD per hour.
The obstacles to implementing a new minimum wage at the national level, however, might lead to disputes that can last for some years. It is possible that Biden does not reach the goal of 15 USD per hour and is forced to negotiate with other proposals, such as the one from the US Chamber of Commerce, which proposes a minimum wage of 10 USD per hour.
If, before Joe Biden's first term in office ends on January 20, 2025, the US government manages to raise the minimum wage at a national level from 7.5 USD per hour to a higher value, the alternative whose range includes the new value for the minimum wage at a national level will be considered the winning outcome of this market.
