Will Argentina’s S&P long-term credit rating drop by the end of 2021?

Market Rules

Argentina is rated CCC+ in S&P Global Ratings’ long-term credit rating. The current rating is the result of the country’s restructuring of its sovereign bonds in dollars and the start of an agreement renegotiation with the International Monetary Fund in 2020. These measures were perceived as positive changes after the announcement of a default.

If S&P Global Rating announces a downgrade of Argentina’s long-term credit rating to less than CCC+ by December 31st, 2021, the outcome for this market will be “Yes”.
