Yoweri Museveni to finish his presidential term in Uganda?

In 2021, Yoweri Museveni was sworn in for the sixth consecutive time as president of Uganda, an office he has held since 1986. Opposition leaders have protested the recent voting results. Since 2005 the length of a presidential term in Uganda is 5 years, but there is no limit to the number of times an individual can be reelected for the office.
If Yoweri Museveni remains in office as president of Uganda through the day in which the Uganda election of 2026 takes place, this market will be solved as “Yes”. If the 2026 election gets suspended for political reasons, this market will be resolved according to Mr. Museveni’s status on February 1st, 2026.
