Will Apple announce a foldable iPhone by September 2023?
Market Rules
One of Apple's most anticipated projects (even though it has never been confirmed by the company) is the development of a mobile phone with a foldable screen. The company already filed multiple patents for technologies related to foldable devices at the US Patent and Trademark Office and might start competing in the foldable phones segment, such as the ones commercialized by Samsung.
If by September 30th, 2023, Apple uses one of its seasonal events or official communication channels to announce the launch of a foldable iPhone, this market will resolve to "Yes".
. The announcement does not need to include a demo nor images from the prototype for this condition to be met. The phone doesn't have to reach the market within the referred deadline either. For this market to resolve to "Yes", it is sufficient that the company announces the launch of the foldable phone.

- gutogalego: Apple will announce a doorless car before they take a risk this big. 52% of their revenue come from the iPhone, they will take their risks elsewhere.
- deagol: FutuurBot Title says “by August of 2023” but description says “by September 30th, 2023”. Which one is it? cc @Futuur @lucaslocher7 @tom
- Futuur: deagol Thank you for pointing that out. Apple's events traditionally take place in September, as stated in the description, so the title should reflect that. We have corrected the mistake, so that both fields refer to the same thing: the possibility of Apple launching a foldable iPhone in its 2023 iPhone event.
- deagol: Futuur Thanks, that’s what I thought made the most sense, and of course shifts the odds somewhat.
