Will the patch vaccine against Covid-19 be considered safe and effective in humans by the end of June 2022?

Researchers at the University of Queensland (Australia) are developing a less invasive method to immunize against COVID-19 based on a patch-like applicator on the skin. The applicator almost imperceptibly inserts 5,000 microscopic projections into the skin to distribute the immunizing agent.

The patch vaccine successfully protected mice against exposure to SARS-CoV-2 and led to a more robust immune response than the same needle-applied vaccine. The vaccine used in the trial was the University of Texas' candidate vaccine HexaPro. Now that the vaccine has proven effective in animals, the team hopes to start testing in humans as soon as possible.

If by the end of June 2022 the application of any Covid-19 vaccine through the Queensland-developed patch-like applicator proves to be safe and effective in humans, this market will resolve to “Yes”.
