Will Brazil's Congress pass an 18% salary increase to Supreme Court justices by the end of 2022?
Market Rules
On August 10th, 2022, justices of Brazil's Supreme Court (Supremo Tribunal Federal, or STF) unanimously drafted, in a virtual meeting, a proposal to raise the salaries of judges and officials of the Judiciary branch by 18%, in installments, through 2023 and 2024. If approved by the National Congress, the change would raise STF’s justices’ salaries from the current 39,293.32 reais to 46,366 reais a month.
If by December 31st, 2022, Brazil's House of Representatives and Federal Senate approve the salary raise of 18% proposed by Brazil's Supreme Court to the country's Judiciary power, this market will resolve to “Yes”.
