This event predicts whether Hibatullah Akhundzada will remain in power as the Taliban’s supreme leader (Emir) through December 31, 2026. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official Taliban communications and widely recognized governmental/international reporting identifying the Taliban’s supreme leader.
If Hibatullah Akhundzada is still recognized as the Taliban’s supreme leader through the end of December 31, 2026, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Temporary absences will not affect resolution as long as he is officially recognized as leader. If leadership is disputed or official Taliban statements are unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international news organizations. Resolution will reflect substantive leadership status, not rumors. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
