TIME Person of the Year 2026

Market Rules

Each market in this event resolves to "Yes" if the listed person, concept, or entity is TIME Person of the Year for 2026, per the TIME magazine cover or covers announcing the choice (the Person of the Year feature article may also be used). Under the resolution rules, more than one market can resolve "Yes" — for example, when a group is named and listed people associated with it appear on the cover — so markets resolve independently.

If the Person of the Year is a concept, group, or thing, a listed person still qualifies if they are explicitly named Person of the Year, or if they are directly associated with the named concept, group, or thing and are pictured on any official TIME cover announcing the Person of the Year. A listed concept, group, entity, or thing qualifies only if it is synonymous with the announced Person of the Year — being conceptually linked, or being pictured on the cover, is not sufficient for a non-person option.

If TIME uses language that does not refer to a specific, commonly recognized concept, group, entity, or thing (e.g., 2011's "The Protester"), the TIME Person of the Year feature article will be used to determine the meaning of that language, and listed options qualify if they can be reasonably understood as equivalent to it.

If the 2026 Person of the Year is not announced by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, all markets resolve "No".
