On March 11th, the World Health Organization declared that the epidemic caused by the new coronavirus, COVID-19, became a pandemic, reaching all continents and infecting more than 137,000 and killing more than 5,000 people. In Spain alone, the virus infected 4,334 and killed 122 people (numbers from March 13th, 2020).
The number of cases registered in Spain daily are still rising (reference day: March 13, 2020) and new cases are registered every day. How many people will be killed with COVID-19 by the end of 2020 in Spain?
This question will be resolved based on the official statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO). If by January 5th, 2021, the WHO does not commit to a definitive number of deaths reported as caused by the Covid-19, Futuur will reserve itself the right to use data from another credible source that does provide an official death count for the Covid-19 outbreak - such as the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at John Hopkins University - to resolve this question.
