When will the first 1000 qubit quantum computer be launched?
Market Rules
Since the quantum supremacy achievement was announced by Google in 2019, computing giants as Google, IBM, and Rigetti, and less-known startups, are running to develop more powerful and tradable quantum computers.
The quantum information unit is called the qubit, and the amount of qubit in a device is considered a milestone to determine the evolution of quantum computing. As of October 2020, the quantum computer with the highest amount of qubit is IBM's, with 64. IBM announced that was working to achieve a 1000 qubit unit by 2023, and competitors are also working to evolve in the quantic computing world, but when will the first quantum computer with at least 1000-qubit be finally announced?.
The alternative that lists the year in which the first company announces the creation of a functioning quantum computer with at least 1000 qubit will be considered the winning outcome of this market. If no company reaches that milestone by January 1st, 2024, this market will be resolved as "It will not happen before 2024".
