Will the Paycheck Fairness Act pass in the US Congress by the end of 2021?
Market Rules
The Paycheck Fairness Act is a proposed law to amend equal pay provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. Its provisions mainly restrict the bona fide factor defense to wage discrimination claims, enhance nonretaliation provisions, make it unlawful to require an employee to sign a contract or waiver prohibiting the employee from disclosing information about the employee's wages and increase civil penalties for violations of equal pay provisions.
The Paycheck Fairness Act was introduced in the US House of Representatives as Bill 1869 and in the US Senate as Bill 819. If either of these bills passes in the US Congress by December 31, 2021, this market will be resolved as “Yes”.
