Will a new strain of SARS-CoV-2 that is resistant to vaccines be identified by the end of 2021?

Market Rules

The vaccination against COVID-19 has begun in the world in December 2020, and scientists and health officials are now racing against time to vaccinate the population while containing the spreading of SARS-CoV-2. The uncontrolled spread gives margin to the emergence of mutated strains, which might be resistant to the available vaccines.

If a new strain of SARS-CoV-2 (resistant to the vaccines that were in use or phase III trials as per January 2021) emerges and is identified by the end of 2021, this market will be resolved as "Yes".

To resolve this market, Futuur will not consider vaccines that are custom-made to contain the new strain.
