<p>A study by the Copenhagen Research Center for Mental Health found a strong correlation between smoking marijuana and developing mental illnesses, particularly schizophrenia. Scientists examined records of 7.2 million patients in Denmark to identify a link between recreational cannabis use and the disorder.
Due to the limitation of the study, however, it cannot truly establish the causal link between marijuana use and the disease, as there are several additional factors to consider. The findings also need to be replicated elsewhere before conclusions can be drawn.
If any other study that is deemed reputable by Futuur's team confirms the link between recreational cannabis use and schizophrenia by the end of 2023, this market will be resolved as “Yes”.
