Will Disney lose its self-governing status by the end of 2022?

Market Rules

A special status was granted to the Walt Disney Company by a Florida state law in 1967, allowing the company to collect taxes and provide emergency services in a 40 square miles district in Orlando (Reedy Creek Improvement District). Florida governor Ron DeSantis is pushing the Florida House of Representatives to remove the company’s special status after the Senate of Florida passed a bill on this theme on April 19th, 2022.

If Florida governor Ron DeSantis sanctions a bill dissolving the special taxing Reedy Creek district (thus removing Disney’s self-governing status) by December 31st, 2022, then the resolution of this market will be “Yes”.
