Russia to recognize the independence of any formerly Ukrainian territory (other than Crimea, Luhansk, Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia) in 2024?
Market Rules
In February 2014, Russia annexed the Crimean Peninsula. Eight years later, in February 2022, Russia started a military assault against Ukraine after recognizing and signing assistance treaties with the insurrectionist republics of Luhansk ("Luhansk National Republic") and Donetsk ("Donetsk National Republic"). Later on, in September 2022, Russia also recognized the independence of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, before declaring their annexion.
If by December 31st, 2024, Russia recognizes as an independent country or independent territory any territory that used to belong to Ukraine on February 23rd, 2022 (other than the Crimean Peninsula, Luhansk, Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia), this market will resolve to "Yes".
