Will Algeria and Morocco reestablish diplomatic relations in 2026?
Market Rules
This event predicts whether Algeria and Morocco will formally reestablish full diplomatic relations at any time between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (inclusive). For this market, reestablishment means the formal restoration of diplomatic ties, including the exchange of ambassadors. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official announcements by the governments of Algeria and Morocco confirming the restoration.
If Algeria and Morocco formally restore diplomatic relations during this period, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Partial restoration of functions without full diplomatic relations may require intent-based judgment by Futuur. If official announcements are ambiguous, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international news organizations. Resolution will reflect the substantive restoration of diplomatic ties, not limited cooperation. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
