New pandemic by the end of ____?
Market Rules
This set of markets aims to predict whether, between June 23, 2026, and the date listed for each market, the World Health Organization (WHO) will officially declare the existence of a Pandemic Emergency. If this occurs, each market with a listed date later than the date on which the WHO declared the existence of a Pandemic Emergency will resolve to “Yes.” All other markets will resolve to “No.”
The declaration of any other lower-level emergency, including a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), does not qualify for the purposes of these markets.
The Primary Designated Source for these markets will be formal announcements made by the World Health Organization through any means of communication. Additionally, in cases of ambiguity, delay, or uncertainty, a consensus of credible news outlets may be used as a secondary verification mechanism to help resolve these markets.
