Will Toyota present its first electric car with a solid-state battery by the 2020 Tokyo Olympics?

Market Rules

The Japanese automaker Toyota has not launched any electric cars so far. They passed the last decade investing in its hybrid model, the Prius. This might change in 2020.

Toyota Chief Technology Officer Shigeki Terashi said that the company is set to show its first electric car during the Tokyo Olympics, and it may come with a twist: a solid-state battery. Solid-state batteries are a big deal because they do not use a liquid electrolyte, as is in today's lithium-ion batteries. The absence of a liquid means that they charge even faster, store more energy (good for long driving ranges) and do not overheat.

If Toyota presents an electric car equipped with a solid-state battery by the end the Tokyo Olympics of 2020, this question will be resolved as "Yes".
