According to US law, Joe Biden will not be officially elected President of the United States until December 14, 2020. This is because it is on this day that the Electoral College will meet, and the elected delegates from each of the 50 States must cast their vote for the most voted candidates in their territories.
However, this deadline could be threatened this year by attempts by the current president, Donald Trump, to challenge the electoral results in court or ask for recounts of votes.
If the Electoral College effectively meets to vote elect the president of the United States on December 14, 2020, this market will be resolved as "Yes". If for any reason the date of the Electoral College meeting is postponed, this market will be resolved as "No".
