When will the Eco currency start being used in the ECOWAS?
Market Rules
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) plans to implement the Eco - a single currency that would be accepted by all its member countries - by 2027. The initiative aims at boosting cross-border trade and economic development, but the plan has been delayed three times.
The alternative containing the year in which the Eco starts to be used in the ECOWAS will be the winning outcome of this market.
In case ECOWAS does not create and start circulating the Eco by the end of 2027, this market will be resolved as “Not before 2028”. The same will happen if, before that, ECOWAS officially announces that the currency will no longer be created by the end of 2027.
