Will the US revert its stance on the Cuba embargo in 2022?

Market Rules

Since 1992 the United Nations General Assembly has been voting yearly the draft resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”. The United States systematically opposed this symbolic resolution was until 2017 when the country abstained from voting. This position has been reverted to a “no” vote again since then.

If the US reverts its stance to a “yes” vote or at least abstains from voting during the United Nations General Assembly’s 76th session (2021-2022 term), this market will be resolved as “Yes”.

If the US lifts the embargo on Cuba regardless of its vote on this topic in the UN General Assembly, this market will also be resolved as “Yes”.
