Will the Nord Stream 1 pipeline flows be open to Germany on September 1st?
Market Rules
The programmed halt of Nord Stream 1 pipeline’s flows for maintenance started on July 11th, 2022, and is set to last from 10 to 14 days. However, German authorities fear that the interruption may be prolonged by Russia, due to political and economic tensions generated by the Russia-Ukraine War. Germany depends on Russia as a source of natural gas and a permanent interruption could lead to a massive increase of energy prices and instability in the country.
If the flow of gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline between Russia and Germany is open on September 1st, 2022, even if only partially open, this market will resolve to “Yes”.
