Ranil Wickremensinghe, six-time prime minister and ally of former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa, was elected President of Sri Lanka by the Parliament on July 20th, 2022. However, the massive popular protests motivated by inflation of over 50%, scarcity of fuel, food, and medicine may present strong resistance to his time in office.

If Ranil Wickremensinghe remains in office as president of Sri Lanka through December 31st, 2022, this market will resolve to“Yes”.
