Will St. Kitts and Nevis to decide to become a Republic by the end of 2025?
Market Rules
Although Saint Kitts and Nevis is a fully independent Caribbean nation since 1983, it is also a former British colony that opted to remain part of the British Commonwealth and retain Queen Elizabeth II as its monarch, represented by a governor-general. However, after the queen’s passing in 2022, the country’s foreign minister signaled that it might be time to start discussing a constitutional referendum in order to remove the British monarch as head of state.
If a legal change, such as (but not limited to) a referendum, prescribing the change from a Monarchical to a Republican regime in Saint Kitts and Nevis, even if gradually, is approved by the end of 2025, this market will resolve to “Yes”.
