Will any new country trigger the process to become a CSTO member in 2025?
Market Rules
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is an international military alliance currently composed of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, grouped after the fall of the Soviet Union. Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Uzbekistan have all been state members in the past but left the organization later on.
If between January 1st and December 31, 2025, any country other than Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan officially states they will begin the process of entering the CSTO as a member, this market will resolve to “Yes”. The membership process does not need to be completed in 2025 to satisfy this condition.
Only official statements from the country's government or the CSTO will be considered valid for triggering the process
