Territory of Essequibo confirmed as part of Guyana by the International Court of Justice (ICJ)?
Market Rules
This event predicts whether the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will issue a ruling by December 31, 2026 confirming that the Essequibo territory is part of Guyana. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be the official judgment or order issued by the ICJ regarding the territorial dispute between Guyana and Venezuela.
If the ICJ issues a ruling during this period confirming Essequibo as part of Guyana, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Procedural decisions or interim measures that do not address the territorial merits will not count. If official ICJ documentation is unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international news organizations. Resolution will reflect the substantive confirmation of territorial sovereignty, not procedural steps. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
