Brazil to join OPEC by the end of 2026?
Market Rules
This event predicts whether Brazil will become a full member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) at any time between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (inclusive). The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official announcements or membership listings published by OPEC confirming Brazil’s admission as a full member.
If OPEC officially confirms Brazil as a full member during this period, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Participation as an observer, dialogue partner, or as a non-member associate of OPEC+ will not count. If official OPEC communications are ambiguous, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international energy news organizations. Resolution will reflect substantive full membership status, not informal cooperation. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
