Will Putin meet with Trump in 2026?
Market Rules
This market predicts whether, between January 1 and December 31, 2026, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will hold an in-person meeting. For this market’s purposes, “meeting” means a deliberate, face-to-face encounter acknowledged as such. Mere co-presence at the same venue or participation in a plenary session without direct contact will not qualify, nor will phone/video calls, or exchanges via intermediaries.
The market resolves to “Yes” once there is public confirmation that the two leaders met in person. The market resolves to “No” if no qualifying in-person meeting is confirmed by the deadline. A corridor handshake or photo-op counts only if at least one official party (or the event host) characterizes it as a meeting or direct encounter between the two.
This market’s resolution will rely primarily on official readouts, schedules, or press releases from the Kremlin, the White House, the US State Department, or the host organization of the event. Reputable outlets that explicitly quote or reproduce those official confirmations, or publish verifiable photo/video evidence identifying both leaders and the meeting context, may also serve for settlement. Subsequent denials or diplomatic disputes after a qualifying confirmation do not alter the outcome.
