Will any vaccine against Covid-19 be approved for emergency use in Brazil before final proof of effectiveness?
Market Rules
In August, the pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech received emergency use approval in China for its potential Covid-19 vaccine, CoronaVac, to vaccinate high-risk groups. A similar thing happened in Russia, which approved its Sputnik V vaccine even before the beginning of phase III trials. These measures have raised concerns among specialists all over the world, as the efficacy of those vaccines is not yet proven through the phase III trials, which are still ongoing. But other countries, such as Brazil, are also considering granting emergency approval for some vaccines before final proof of effectiveness.
If any Covid-19 vaccine candidate receives emergency approval in Brazil to vaccinate any group other than the volunteers who were already taking part on the phase III trials, this market will be resolved as "Yes".
