Will any Brazilian be chosen to participate in the Dear Moon project?
Market Rules
Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa is selecting 8 people to accompany him on a trip around the Moon, in the so-called Dear Moon project. The mission, which was planned to be carried out in 2023, will be the first to take civilians to the Moon's orbit and should be carried out with help from the Starship, a spacecraft developed by SpaceX (the American aerospace company founded by Elon Musk).
The selection for the project has several stages, including online registration, initial screening, confirmation by the candidate, interview, and medical examinations to see if the person is fit for the trip. Some Brazilians - including researchers Guilherme Ximenes and Felipe Hime - were participating in the third phase of the selection process when this market was published (May 2021).
If the Dear Moon mission takes place by the end of 2023, and at least one Brazilian civilian is chosen to take part in its trip around the Moon, this market will be resolved as “Yes”.
