Will any bio-gel-based device manage to generate energy from ocean waves by the end of 2023?

Researchers at North Carolina State University, USA, created a device based on bio-gel that transforms motion into electricity. By flexing the material, mechanical energy from sources such as the wind, waves, body movement, or engine vibrations can be converted into electricity. Also, the device works well in wet environments.

Taking those attributes into account, the next step for the research group will be to capture energy from ocean waves.
