Will Ukraine enter CSTO as a member by the end of 2022?
Market Rules
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is an international military alliance currently composed of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, grouped after the fall of the Soviet Union.
So far, Ukraine has remained out of the CSTO, associating itself with other countries in the region and aspiring to enter the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) as a member. In 2015, the CSTO’s top representant offered to send peacekeeping efforts to the Donbas region, in Ukraine.
If by December 31, 2022, Ukraine representatives officially state they will begin the process of entering the CSTO as a member, this market will resolve to “Yes”. The membership process does not need to be completed in 2022 to satisfy this condition.
