Will any other war have more casualties than Russia-Ukraine in 2023?
Market Rules
This market will resolve to “Yes” if between January 1st and December 31st, 2023, any conflict between nations records more casualty figures than the Russia-Ukraine conflict in all its duration. In the context of this market, a casualty is defined as a deadly victim, either military or civilian, in a war.
Futuur will use statistics from the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to assess the total number of casualties of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Futuur will select an alternative source based on credibility and frequency of updates in the absence of data from that source. The same criteria will be used to select the data source for casualties of another eventual conflict.
