TikTok banned in the US in 2025?
Market Rules
After federal courts in the US rolled back former president Donald Trump's order for ByteDance to sell its stakes in TikTok nationally, the company articulated a regulatory deal under the Biden administration with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). In April 2024, additional provisions were mandated by the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA)
According to media reports, the deal should establish that American data will be exclusively stored in servers in the territory of the United States and that the application's recommendation algorithms will be monitored. Yet, federal political agents diverge on how to correctly address national security concerns raised by the application.
If by December 31, 2025, TikTok gets banned from Apple's and Google's app stores in the United States of America this market will resolve to “Yes”.
