Number of Fed interest rate cuts in the US in 2025
Market Rules
The winning outcome in this market will be the one matching the total number of FOMC meetings in which FOMC announces a cut in the target for the US annual referential interest rate in 2025.
The size of each cut is irrelevant to this market. If, for example, the FED reduces the target by 0.25 in two meetings, that will count as two cuts, while reducing the target by 0.5 in a single meeting will count as only one cut.
Likewise, it is irrelevant if the FED gets to raise the target at any point. For example, if the Fed cuts rates by 0.25, then raises it by 0.5, then cuts it again by 0.25, this scenario will count as 2 cuts, even though the final rate at the end of the year remains the same as when the year began.
