This event predicts whether Venezuelan political leader María Corina Machado will be arrested at any time between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (inclusive). For this market, an arrest means physical detention by authorities with intent to hold in custody. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official statements or records from Venezuelan authorities or other competent law enforcement bodies.
If María Corina Machado is physically detained under arrest during this period, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Temporary questioning or harassment without arrest will not count. If official documentation is unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major international news organizations or statements from Machado or her representatives. Resolution will reflect whether an arrest occurred, not subsequent legal outcomes. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
