Will Perplexity acquire Chrome in 2026?

This event predicts whether Perplexity AI will acquire Google Chrome (the web browser) at any time between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026 (inclusive). For this market, an acquisition means a binding agreement transferring ownership or control of Chrome to Perplexity. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official announcements by Perplexity or Alphabet/Google confirming such a transaction.
If Perplexity and Alphabet/Google announce a binding agreement transferring ownership or control of Chrome to Perplexity during this period, this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Speculation, regulatory proposals, or partial integrations without ownership transfer will not count. If official announcements are unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from major technology or financial news organizations. Resolution will reflect the substantive transfer of control, not discussions or rumors. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
