Nawaf Salam still Prime Minister of Lebanon through the 2026 election?
Market Rules
This event predicts whether Nawaf Salam will continue to be officially recognized as Prime Minister of Lebanon through May 2026, when the next parliamentary election is expected to take place. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) will be official Lebanese government announcements, including decrees issued by the Presidency, and official statements from Salam or his office confirming his status.
If Nawaf Salam is still officially recognized as Prime Minister through the election period (or, if no election date is officially confirmed, through May 31, 2026), this market will resolve to "Yes". Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Interim or acting arrangements will not qualify unless accompanied by a formal announcement confirming Salam’s permanent departure before the resolution date; temporary absences (e.g., medical leave) will not affect outcome unless they lead to formal replacement. If official sources are ambiguous, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will rely on consistent reporting from reputable international and regional news outlets. Resolution will prioritize the substantive officeholding status, not minor technicalities. If a definitive determination cannot be made, Futuur may cancel this market with a public explanation.
