Number of FOMC meetings with FED interest rate cuts in the US in 2026
Market Rules
This event predicts the total number of Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meetings in 2026 at which the FOMC announces a reduction in the target range for the U.S. federal funds rate. The Primary Designated Source (PDS) is the Federal Reserve, using official FOMC statements and press releases published on federalreserve.gov.
Each meeting at which a cut is announced will count as one (1) cut, regardless of the size of the reduction. Multiple cuts announced at a single meeting will still count as one cut, while cuts announced at separate meetings will each count individually. Rate increases or pauses at other meetings do not affect the count. If FOMC communications are delayed or unclear, the Secondary Confirmation Mechanism (SCM) will be confirmation from official Federal Reserve records or a clear consensus of reporting by major financial news organizations such as Reuters or Bloomberg. The markets will resolve according to the substantive policy actions and market intent, not minor wording or formatting differences; if no fair determination is possible, Futuur may cancel the markets with a public explanation.
