The Varieties of Democracy Research Project (V-Dem) is based in the University of Gothenburg and studies democracy and democratization of countries, combining different core principles of this type of regime (electoral, liberal, majoritarian, consensual, participatory, deliberative, egalitarian) into a single index. This scholarly political science effort of the V-Dem Institute generates yearly Democracy Reports, accounting for the different levels of democratization worldwide.
This set of markets predicts which countries will improve their position in the 2027 Democracy Report Ranking. The markets listing countries that improve their position in the ranking will resolve to "Yes". Markets listing the countries that keep or lower their position will resolve to "No".
