Brazilian STF justice removed by impeachment by end of 2027?
Market Rules
If a sitting Justice (Ministro/a) of the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (Supremo Tribunal Federal or STF) is convicted in an impeachment trial by the Brazilian Federal Senate (Senado Federal) and is consequently removed from office, at any time between this market's creation and the start of the 2027 end-of-year recess of the Brazilian National Congress, this market will resolve to "Yes".
Mere acceptance of an impeachment petition by the President of the Senate, the opening of a process by the Senate's plenary, the formation of a special committee, or any pre-trial procedure does not trigger a “Yes” resolution. Only a final conviction by the Senate that results in formal removal from office counts. Voluntary resignation, retirement, mandatory retirement, death, or any other departure from the bench that is not the consequence of a Senate impeachment conviction does not resolve “Yes”.
The Primary Designated Source is the official record of the Federal Senate (senado.leg.br), including official broadcasts, corroborated by the Federal Official Gazette (Diário Oficial da União) and reliable news outlets chosen at Futuur’s discretion.
