Market Rules
SUMMARY
This market covers only debates held between October 9, 2026, 11:43 UTC and the opening of the polls for Brazil's presidential runoff on October 25, 2026. It resolves "Yes" as soon as Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro both take part live in the same debate, per the organizing outlet's broadcast.
FULL DETAILS
If Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) both take part in the same debate between candidates for President of Brazil at any time between October 9, 2026, 11:43 UTC and October 25, 2026, 08:00 Brasília time (11:00 UTC) — the opening of the polls for the second round of the 2026 presidential election — this market will immediately resolve to "Yes"; otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Debates held before October 9, 2026, 11:43 UTC are not taken into account, even if both candidates took part in a debate at an earlier date. The Primary Designated Source is the live broadcast of the debate by the media outlet or pool of outlets that organizes it (television, radio or internet).
A "debate" is a live broadcast program organized by one or more media outlets in which both candidates participate at the same time and respond to each other, or to questions asked in each other's presence; separate interviews, sequential appearances in the same program, recorded segments and programs in which only one of them participates live do not count. The condition is met at the first moment both candidates are participating live in such a debate; if a candidate leaves early or the debate is interrupted afterwards, resolution is not affected. If the Primary Designated Source is unavailable, the outcome may be confirmed by consistent reporting from at least two of Agência Brasil, Folha de S.Paulo, G1 and O Estado de S. Paulo. Once the condition is first met, resolution is final and irrevocable.
