Cape Verde presidential election 2026: will a candidate win in the first round?
Market Rules
SUMMARY
This market covers only the first round of Cape Verde's presidential election on November 15, 2026. It resolves "Yes" if any candidate obtains a majority of the valid votes in that round, avoiding a second round.
FULL DETAILS
If any candidate wins the Cape Verde presidential election outright in the first round, held on November 15, 2026, this market will resolve to "Yes"; otherwise, it will resolve to "No". Only the first round of this election counts; the second round scheduled for November 29, 2026 and any other election are not taken into account. Resolution is based on a consensus of credible reporting; if there is ambiguity, the Primary Designated Source is the official results reported by Cape Verde's National Elections Commission (Comissão Nacional de Eleições, cne.cv).
A candidate wins outright in the first round when he or she obtains a majority of the valid votes, so that no second round is required. If the result of the first round is not known by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No".
