Market Rules

Vladimir Putin was elected in 2018 for a 6-year term as President of Russia.

If Putin remains in office as President of Russia through May 7th, 2024 (the expected date for the next presidential inauguration in Russia), this market will resolve to "Yes", regardless of whether or not Putin is reelected for a new term.

In the case of an eventual death of Mr Putin, however, our team will have to evaluate the circumstances of the case. One of the ethical principles of Futuur is the commitment to not providing markets that can be used as a stimulus to cause direct harm to anyone involved in it, regardless of who that person is. That is why, for example, markets such as "Will person X be alive by the end of YYYY?" are explicitly vetoed in our community, as they could be interpreted by some as a reward for betting on "No" and actually pursuing the assassination of the individual. Therefore, in the event that Vladmir Putin is deceased before completing the duration of his term, our team will have to evaluate the circumstances of his death before deciding between resolving the market as "No" or canceling it altogether and returning all active wagers to forecasters.
