Will any Brazilian state declare a new Zika epidemic in 2021?
Market Rules
According to the scientists from FioCruz Bahia, a new strain of the Zika virus was circulating in Brazil in 2020. The strain that usually circulates in Brazil has Asian origins, but scientists used genetic analyses to discover that the new strain has African origins and possesses never-before-seen genetic sequences. That means the majority of the Brazilian population has no immunity against it and would be at risk of facing a new Zika epidemic if such strain of the virus starts spreading.
If any Brazilian State declares a new Zika epidemic by December 31st, 2021, this question will be resolved as "Yes".
