The United States' Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has imposed a moratorium on evictions in the country, valid from August 3rd through October 3rd, 2021. The ruling was challenged in Court and submitted to the Supreme Court, which kept it in effect. However, Justice Brett Kavanaugh has conditioned further extensions of the eviction moratorium to a clear and specific authorization by the Congress of the United States.

If the US Congress passes an extension to the federal moratorium on evictions by October 3, 2021, at 00:01 UTC, this market will be resolved as “Yes”. The extension can take place either through the postponement of the moratorium currently in effect through October 3rd or through new specific legislation.
