Will Georgia join the EU by the end of 2022?

Market Rules

Georgia applied officially on March 3, 2022 to become a member of the European Union. The country participated in a joint communiqué in 2021, with Ukraine and Moldova, declaring its intentions to join the union. Now, the application has been formalized in face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, initiated in late February.

If, by December 31st, 2022, the Council of the European Union unanimously approves Georgia’s membership application, in accordance with Article 49 of the Treaty of the European Union, then the resolution of this market will be “Yes”.
